Major Road Development Project Begins in Belagavi

A major infrastructure upgrade project aimed at improving traffic movement and pedestrian facilities in Belagavi has officially commenced, with development works from Third Railway Gate to BEMCO Cross (Khanapur Road) being inaugurated by Belagavi South MLA Abhay Patil.

The project, estimated at ₹10 crore for the first phase, includes the construction of a concrete road, road widening works, development of dividers, and modern footpaths to enhance both vehicular movement and public convenience.

Speaking to the media during the inauguration ceremony, MLA Abhay Patil stated that the development works will be carried out in multiple phases to ensure systematic execution and minimal inconvenience to commuters.

Project Phases

  • Phase 1: Third Railway Gate to BEMCO Cross
  • Phase 2: BEMCO Cross to Peeranwadi Cross

He further informed that the total cost of the complete road development project is expected to exceed ₹26 crore upon completion of all phases.

The initiative is expected to significantly improve road infrastructure in the area by reducing congestion, streamlining traffic flow, and providing safer pedestrian pathways with dedicated footpaths and dividers.

Several dignitaries, public representatives, party leaders, and local residents were present during the inauguration ceremony and welcomed the commencement of the long-awaited development works.
