24 Acres, 7 Towers:  ₹1223 Crore Mega IT Park Approved For Belagavi : Details

The Karnataka government has officially approved the construction of a state-of-the-art Information Technology (IT) Park in Belagavi, aimed at curbing youth migration and generating substantial local employment.

District In-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi announced the decision during a review meeting at the Belagavi Urban Development Authority (BUDA) hall. He instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive blueprint for land acquisition, infrastructure, and amenities to expedite the project.

Three-Phase Development Plan The mega project will span 24 acres in Kanabargi Scheme-61 and feature 7 commercial towers developed in three phases with an estimated investment of ₹1,223 crore:

  • Phase 1: Construction of 1.8 lakh sq. ft. at an estimated cost of ₹75 crore.
  • Phase 2: Development of 14.29 lakh sq. ft. with an outlay of ₹600 crore.
  • Phase 3: Addition of 13.77 lakh sq. ft. at a cost of ₹548 crore.

Urban Infrastructure & Civic Amenities Presided over by BUDA Chairman and Belagavi North MLA Asif Sait, the meeting also approved several major urban infrastructure projects:

  • Healthcare & Community Facilities: A 100-bed hospital in Kumaraswamy Layout (₹25 crore), a G+2 wedding hall (₹7 crore), and a nine-shop commercial complex (₹3 crore) in Ramateerth Nagar.
  • Women’s Fitness & Traffic Safety: Three dedicated women’s gyms across the city (₹3 crore) and upgrades for 10 major traffic junctions/smart circles (₹4 crore).
  • Lake Rejuvenation: Development and restoration of Sahyadri Nagar and Muthyanatti lakes (₹11 crore).

Minister Jarkiholi emphasized creating a long-term master plan to modernize traffic junctions, expand green spaces, and accommodate the city’s rapid urban growth. Belagavi South MLA Abhay Patil, Deputy Mayor Hanamantha Kongali, BUDA Commissioner Shakeel Ahmed, and other key officials were present at the meeting.
