The district administration has commenced the phased transfer of compensation funds directly into the bank accounts of eligible landowners and farmers across the region.

Land Acquisition Status & Farmer Relief
Farmers whose agricultural land is being acquired have consistently demanded timely and adequate compensation. Organizations representing local farmers urged state authorities to expedite payments to mitigate the financial burden on families forfeiting fertile holdings.
While land acquisition encountered opposition earlier this year in villages such as Idalhond, Nagenahalli, K.K. Koppa, Gurlgunji, Nandihalli, and Halgimardi—where residents requested alignment modifications—district officials conducted stakeholder consultations to resolve grievances before proceeding with disbursements.
Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan confirmed that the ₹70 crore disbursed by the state is being directly deposited into farmers’ bank accounts. Additional funds for remaining landowners are expected to be allocated shortly.
