E-commerce giant Amazon officially marked its entry into North Karnataka’s quick commerce landscape (10 min Delivery) by rolling out Amazon Now in Belagavi on Thursday.
The launch intensifies local competition in the rapid delivery market, positioning Amazon directly against established players including Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Blinkit, JioMart, and Flipkart Minutes in Belagavi City.
To enable rapid neighborhood fulfillment, Amazon has partnered with More Supermarkets across two key nodes in North Belagavi: Anjaneya Nagar and Nehru Nagar. And also in South Belagavi Region. Operating within an estimated 15-kilometer radius of each store, the service covers a wide swath of Belagavi North and surrounding localities, ensuring quick delivery of daily groceries, packaged foods, and household essentials.
Aggressive Launch Discounts and Zero-Fee Model
To drive adoption, Amazon has launched an aggressive introductory pricing structure aimed at eliminating friction for small and large cart sizes alike:
- No Extra Charges: Complete waiver on delivery fees, small cart fees, and platform fees.
- No Minimum Order Threshold: Shoppers can order low-ticket items—even a single ₹10 pack of chips—delivered without extra surcharges.
- Cart Discounts:
- ₹50 off on orders above ₹299
- ₹100 off on orders above ₹549
- ₹200 off on orders above ₹999
The zero-fee framework directly targets common consumer pain points around handling and surge charges, setting up an intense battle for market share as tier-2 cities become the primary growth frontier for rapid delivery networks. Customers in eligible pin codes can access the service directly via the Amazon app.
