In a major boost to Belagavi’s growing commercial importance, Dubai-based consumer electronics and home appliance brand Gratus officially launched its South India operations in the city on Sunday in the presence of distinguished delegations from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Sultanate of Oman.
The grand launch event marked the South India debut of Gratus in partnership with the Manickbag Group and also celebrated the company’s successful 15-year journey in the global home appliance market. Senior industry leaders, distributors, retailers, and business associates from Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu attended the ceremony.
Founded by Raju Shetty and headquartered in Sharjah, Gratus has established a strong presence across Middle Eastern markets with more than 300 products available at over 1,000 retail points internationally. The company focuses on innovation-driven home appliances designed to make modern living smarter, safer, and more efficient.
The India operations are being handled by VMNR Global Tech Pvt Ltd in collaboration with Disha Corporation. The company introduced a wide range of products for Indian consumers, including air conditioners, QLED televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, water dispensers, ovens, infrared cookers, and several small home appliances.
A major highlight of the launch was the company’s flagship air conditioner range featuring 7-in-1 Convertible Technology, Gold Fin protection, 4-Way Swing functionality, and high-temperature cooling capability up to 52°C. Company officials stated that the products are specially designed using expertise gained from operating in Dubai’s extreme climate conditions, where temperatures can reach up to 60°C.
Gratus also showcased its latest QLED televisions, dishwashers, air coolers, and advanced infrared cookers that use flame-free infrared technology for faster and safer cooking with improved energy efficiency.
Belagavi was strategically selected as the South India launch destination because of its rapidly developing commercial ecosystem and its geographical importance connecting Karnataka, Goa, and Maharashtra. Company representatives said the city offers strong business potential for future expansion across South India.
The launch event was organised under the leadership of Karnataka, Goa, and Maharashtra Regional Manager Shidling Bhangi. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Regional Manager Sanjay Patki and Tamil Nadu Regional Manager Rammohan were also present during the event.
The international significance of the occasion increased with the participation of delegates from the UAE and Oman, including Manea Mohammed Ali Lamesh, Ebrahim Saif, Al Mazroui Said Rashid Suhail, Abu Saif, and Mubarak Saif Mubarak.
Speaking at the event, Vivek Mishra said the 15-year milestone reflects the trust and commitment the brand has built among consumers. He added that Gratus aims to introduce a new generation of modern home experiences in India through innovation and global quality standards.
Representing the UAE delegation, Manea Mohammed Ali Lamesh stated that the warm reception received in Belagavi reflected the growing trade and economic relationship between India and the UAE.
The event was attended by directors of the Manickbag Group, including Ramesh Shah, Bhushan Mirji, Sheel Mirji, and Swapnil Shah.
