BJP MLA Abhay Patil has alleged that the Karnataka government has failed to release the special development grant promised for Belagavi, despite announcing ₹100 crore annually over the last three years.
Speaking to the media, Patil said that Belagavi had earlier received a special grant of ₹100 crore for development, and subsequent governments continued the initiative. However, he claimed that while the present Congress government announced ₹100 crore each year for the past three years, not a single rupee has been released so far.
“The promise was to provide ₹100 crore every year. By now, Belagavi should have received ₹300 crore, but we have not even received the first ₹100 crore,” Patil said.
He further stated that the necessary tenders have already been floated and preparations for executing the development works are complete. However, due to the non-release of funds, the projects remain stalled.
Patil urged the state government to immediately release the promised grant so that the planned infrastructure and development works in Belagavi can commence without further delay.
