In a major step toward resolving a long-standing commuter safety issue, Member of Parliament Shri Jagadish Shettar chaired an official meeting in Belagavi on Monday, July 13, 2026, to discuss the construction of a public underpass near the Basaveshwara Circle adjacent to Hirebagewadi village on the Belagavi-Dharwad National Highway 48 (NH-48).
The high-level meeting was held with officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Dharwad division, in the presence of farmers, residents, and local leaders from Hirebagewadi.

Following the deliberations, he directed the officials to expedite the project and construct the underpass at a strategic location near Basaveshwara Circle to ensure maximum convenience and safety for the public.
Key attendees at the meeting included NHAI Project Director Shri Bhuvanesh Kumar, alongside prominent local figures Shri Eeranna Rotti, Shri Chetan Angadi, members of the Hirebagewadi Gram Panchayat, and village elders.
