In a boost to local urban infrastructure and community wellness, Belagavi North MLA Asif (Raju) Sait officially commenced the development works of a park in Ward No. 36, Sector 12, Mahantesh Nagar. The project, being undertaken at a cost of ₹50 lakh, aims to provide residents with a modern, clean, and accessible recreational space.
The civic upgrade focuses on improving safety, accessibility, and fitness facilities within the park. The ₹50-lakh budget covers key infrastructure additions, including:
- Boundary & Access: A 229-metre chain-link fencing compound and a 162-metre dedicated walking track.
- Lighting & Utilities: One high-mast light tower, six 3-metre LED light poles, and a new borewell for groundwater supply.
- Fitness & Amenities: Outdoor gym equipment with a paved platform, six public benches, and six dustbins to maintain cleanliness.
Addressing the gathering at the stone-laying ceremony, MLA Sait highlighted the importance of well-maintained public spaces in urban areas.
“Developing parks and open spaces is essential for promoting public health, recreation, and community interaction,” Sait said. “Projects like these significantly enhance the overall quality of life for local residents—especially children, women, and senior citizens—by offering safe and green environments right in their neighborhood.”
Local civic leaders, municipality officials, and area residents attended the event. Community members welcomed the initiative, noting that the upgraded garden will serve as a central space for fitness and social gatherings in Mahantesh Nagar once completed.
