Indian Railways is set to boost operational efficiency and passenger convenience at Belagavi Railway Station with the installation of a new Quick Watering System.
The upgraded infrastructure will be deployed across multiple platform tracks, specifically between roads 1 & 2, roads 3 & 4, and roads 4 & 5.
Faster Turnaround and Improved Passenger Convenience
A Quick Watering System utilizes high-pressure pumps and automated valves to fill water tanks in passenger train coaches in a fraction of the time required by traditional gravity-fed hoses.
Key benefits of the project include:
- Reduced Halting Times: Trains stopping at Belagavi can be fully watered in approximately 5 to 10 minutes, significantly reducing dwell times and improving overall schedule reliability across the route.
- Consistent Water Supply: The high-pressure system ensures coach overhead tanks are completely filled, preventing water shortages for long-distance travelers during hot summer months.
- Minimal Wastage: Automated controls monitor flow and cut off supply automatically once tanks reach capacity, helping conserve local water resources.
The project forms part of ongoing efforts to modernize station infrastructure and enhance passenger amenities along critical rail corridors in Karnataka. Further installation timelines and operational rollout dates will be shared as work progresses.
