In an effort to accommodate the heavy passenger rush during the upcoming Dasara, Deepavali, and Chhath festivals, South Western Railway (SWR) has announced the operation of weekly express special trains between Yesvantpur (Bengaluru) and Pandharpur.
The service will run for eight trips in each direction between October and November 2026.
According to a press statement issued by Dr. Manjunath Kanamadi, Chief Public Relations Officer of South Western Railway, the dedicated special trains will provide substantial relief to pilgrims and holiday travelers heading toward northern Karnataka and southern Maharashtra.
Schedule & Timings
- Train No. 06507 (Yesvantpur to Pandharpur): Departing every Wednesday from Yesvantpur at 6:15 PM, the train will reach Pandharpur at 11:35 AM the following day (Thursday). The service will operate weekly from October 7 to November 25, 2026.
- Train No. 06508 (Pandharpur to Yesvantpur): In the return direction, the train will depart from Pandharpur every Thursday at 1:35 PM, arriving at Yesvantpur by 4:15 AM the next day (Friday). This service will run from October 8 to November 26, 2026.
Key Stoppages
The weekly special will halt at major junctions and commercial hubs across both directions, including:
- Karnataka: Tumakuru, Arsikere, Birur, Chikjajur, Davangere, Harihar, SMM Haveri, SSS Hubballi, Dharwad, Londa, Belagavi, Gokak Road, Ghataprabha, and Rayabag.
- Maharashtra: Miraj, Arag, Kavathe-Mahankal, Dhalgaon, Jath Road, and Sangola.
Coach Composition
The train will feature a 21-coach rake designed to cater to various passenger segments:
- 2 AC 2-Tier coaches
- 6 AC 3-Tier coaches
- 7 Sleeper Class coaches
- 4 General Second Class coaches
- 2 Luggage cum Brake Van & Generator Car coaches
