Stalled Azam Nagar Corporation Complex Work to Resume with ₹4.9 Crore Boost

After remaining stalled for a prolonged period, construction of the Belagavi City Corporation commercial complex on APMC Road in Azam Nagar is set to resume on Saturday following a special fund allocation of ₹4.9 crore.

Belagavi North MLA Asif (Raju) Sait made the announcement on Friday during an inspection of the project site, stating that the pending infrastructure work has been fast-tracked and is slated for completion within the next six to seven months.

Once completed, the commercial complex will house 116 shops. The facility is designed to create new avenues for local traders, support small-scale businesses, and organize retail trade in the rapidly expanding neighborhood. With public movement and commercial footfall steadily rising along the APMC Road corridor, the new complex is expected to provide modern civic amenities for vendors and significantly strengthen the locality’s economic potential.

Speaking at the site, MLA Sait emphasized that reviving and completing stalled public utility projects remains a top priority for his administration. Reaffirming his commitment to fulfilling development promises made to the electorate, he directed the executing engineers and civic officials to maintain strict quality standards and ensure the complex is handed over to the public within the stipulated timeframe without further bottlenecks.

Youth leader Amaan Sait, Belagavi Urban Development Authority (BUDA) Commissioner Shakeel Ahmed, senior engineers Manjushree and Hanif, along with other Belagavi City Corporation officials, accompanied the legislator during the announcement.
