Belagavi Residents Can Now Report Potholes Directly via WhatsApp

In a major push to improve civic infrastructure and commuter safety, Belagavi North MLA Asif (Raju) Sait has launched the “Pothole-Free Belagavi” initiative to repair damaged stretches and eliminate road hazards across the constituency.

The move follows mounting complaints from local residents regarding deteriorated roads that pose severe safety risks to motorists and pedestrians. Addressing the issue, MLA Sait noted that ongoing infrastructure developments—primarily underground drainage (UGD) projects and extensive works by L&T—have led to road cutting and surface damage throughout several neighborhoods.

To ensure accountability, the MLA announced that executing agencies have been issued strict deadlines to complete pending underground work and carry out proper road restoration.

Citizen Helpline: How to Report Potholes

A citizen reporting system has been set up to track damaged spots. Residents can report hazardous roads directly to the response team by submitting photo or video evidence along with the exact location via WhatsApp:

  • WhatsApp Helplines: +91 87225 59561 | +91 90357 86518
  • Required Details: Clear photo/video of the pothole and precise location/landmark.

A dedicated monitoring cell will review incoming submissions, verify road conditions on the ground, and coordinate directly with municipal authorities and contractors for prompt repairs.
