Vehicle registrations under the Belagavi Regional Transport Office (KA-22) registered a noticeable uptick in August 2026, logging 3,777 new vehicles—an increase of 203 units (5.7%) compared to the 3,574 vehicles registered in July.
With the August numbers tallied, Belagavi’s cumulative vehicle registrations from January through August 2026 have reached 27,728 units. March continues to hold the record as the busiest month of the year so far with 5,510 registrations, while February remains the lowest at 3,356.
Two-Wheelers Dominate the Roads
Two-wheelers continued to drive local demand, accounting for roughly three out of every four vehicles sold in the district. In August alone, 2,850 two-wheelers were registered, making up 75.5% of total registrations.

On the fuel front, Petrol (E20) led all powertrain categories with 1,498 registrations, followed by conventional Petrol at 961 and Diesel at 349.
Electric mobility maintained solid traction with 688 pure electric vehicles (EVs) hitting the streets. While this marks a drop from July’s record peak of 817 units, EV adoption stayed resilient, surpassing figures recorded in June (655) and May (628).
Manufacturer Standings: TVS Leads Close Race
The manufacturer race saw fierce competition among two-wheeler majors, with TVS Motor Company retaining its leadership position from July with 652 registrations. Hero MotoCorp edged out Honda to claim second place.
