Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has informed that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has approved a superfast train between Bengaluru and Mumbai via Central Karnataka.
According to Joshi, the new train is expected to begin operations before the end of June. The train will be passing through major cities including Tumakuru, Davanagere, Haveri, Hubballi-Dharwad, and Belagavi, improving rail connectivity across the region.
The train is expected to initially operate as a superfast express service and may later be upgraded into a Vande Bharat Sleeper train. The initiative aims to enhance connectivity, reduce travel inconvenience, and provide faster rail access between Bengaluru and Mumbai for passengers from North and Central Karnataka.
The announcement has been welcomed by passengers and railway users, especially from North Karnataka, where there has been a long-standing demand for improved direct connectivity to Mumbai and Bengaluru.
