Belagavi Airport has marked another major milestone in its infrastructure expansion with the formal commencement of the Installation and Testing (ITC) work for four Passenger Boarding Bridges (Aerobridges) at the airport’s newly developed apron connecting Terminal-2.
The works began with an auspicious Puja ceremony, attended by Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials, airport staff, contractors, and other stakeholders, signifying the start of a project that will significantly enhance passenger convenience and operational efficiency.
A total of four aerobridges will be installed as part of the airport’s modernization initiative connecting Terminal-2. Once commissioned, passengers will be able to board and disembark aircraft directly from the terminal building, eliminating the need for buses or walking across the apron. The new facilities will provide greater comfort, improve accessibility, and ensure smoother operations, especially during adverse weather conditions.
The installation of the four aerobridges is a significant step towards transforming Belagavi Airport into a modern aviation hub capable of handling growing passenger traffic while offering world-class airport infrastructure. The project is expected to further strengthen the airport’s capacity and elevate the overall travel experience for passengers.
With the Installation and Testing work now underway, Belagavi Airport continues to make steady progress in its ongoing infrastructure development, bringing it closer to providing enhanced services and facilities comparable to major airports across the country.
