Vi Rolls Out 5G Services in Belagavi and Hubballi-Dharwad

Indian telecom operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) has officially launched its 5G services across Belagavi and the twin cities of Hubballi-Dharwad. This marks another major milestone in Vi’s next-generation network rollout across Karnataka, following its earlier commercial deployments in Bengaluru and Mysuru.

The expansion is part of the operator’s targeted strategy to bolster high-speed digital connectivity in key commercial corridors, high-density urban clusters, and industrial zones. While service is currently operational in select pockets, the telco plans a phased densification to cover all parts of both cities within the coming days.

Powering North Karnataka’s Growth Hubs

Belagavi and the Hubballi-Dharwad twin cities represent vital commercial, educational, and industrial nerve centers in northern Karnataka. In recent years, both regions have experienced a surge in data demand powered by manufacturing clusters, academic institutions, tech parks, and an expanding base of digital-first consumers.

The rollout of Vi’s 5G network is positioned to meet this growing consumption by delivering:

  • Lower Latency: Smoother cloud access and responsive connectivity for local enterprises and software firms.
  • High-Speed Data: Uninterrupted high-definition streaming, gaming, and rapid file transfers for consumers and university students.
  • Industrial Enablement: Reliable infrastructure tailored to support IoT, automation, and enterprise operations in manufacturing corridors.

Vi subscribers in Belagavi and Hubballi-Dharwad equipped with 5G-enabled smartphones can now access the high-speed network in supported areas without needing to change their existing 4G SIM cards. Further base station integrations are underway to provide seamless citywide coverage shortly.
