₹54.2 Crore Biogas Project in Belagavi Put on Hold

A proposed compressed biogas (CBG) project in Belagavi, estimated at ₹54.2 crore, has been stalled due to land-related challenges and local opposition.

The project, assigned to Gas Authority of India Limited, aimed to convert city waste into clean energy. However, multiple locations identified for the plant have faced resistance from residents, forcing authorities to drop earlier plans.

Officials are now exploring alternative sites, but no final decision has been made yet. The delay raises concerns over waste management and renewable energy initiatives in the city.
