Bengaluru–Mumbai Superfast Train to Boost Connectivity via Belagavi

In a significant development for rail connectivity in Karnataka and Maharashtra, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has confirmed the introduction of a new superfast train service between Bengaluru and Mumbai.

Faster Travel Time

The upcoming train is expected to reduce travel time to approximately 18 hours, a notable improvement compared to the existing Udyan Express, which currently takes over 23 hours to complete the journey.

Key Route and Stops

The train will operate via an important corridor, enhancing connectivity across major cities. Key stoppages will include:

  • Tumakuru
  • Davangere
  • Hubballi
  • Belagavi

The service is likely to originate from SMVT Bengaluru station and terminate at CSMT Mumbai, two major railway hubs.

This new service is expected to:

  • Improve intercity connectivity
  • Benefit business and daily commuters
  • Boost regional economic activity, especially in North Karnataka

A Major Upgrade for North Karnataka

For cities like Hubballi and Belagavi, the introduction of this superfast train marks a significant upgrade in rail infrastructure and accessibility, reducing dependency on slower existing services.
