Belagavi district is expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours, accompanied by sustained winds of 50–60 kmph, according to the latest rainfall forecast for Karnataka.
The forecast indicates that heavy to very heavy rain is likely at a few places across Belagavi district, making it one of the districts in North Interior Karnataka expected to experience significant rainfall activity.
Residents, particularly those living in low-lying areas and regions vulnerable to waterlogging, are advised to remain cautious. Strong winds combined with intense rainfall may also lead to reduced visibility, difficult road conditions, falling tree branches and temporary disruptions to normal activities.
Elsewhere in North Interior Karnataka, heavy rainfall accompanied by winds of 50–60 kmph is likely at isolated places in Dharwad and Gadag districts, while Haveri district may experience heavy rain with winds reaching 40–50 kmph.
Light to moderate rainfall is forecast at a few places across Vijayapura, Kalaburagi, Raichur and Bagalkot districts, accompanied by winds of 50–60 kmph. Bidar, Koppal and Yadgir districts may also receive light to moderate rainfall with winds of 40–50 kmph.
Coastal Karnataka and parts of the Malnad region are expected to witness more intense rainfall. Extremely heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Shivamogga districts, while heavy to very heavy rain is forecast at several locations.
With intense rainfall and strong winds forecast for Belagavi, commuters are advised to exercise caution, avoid unnecessary travel through waterlogged stretches and stay alert to official weather and local administration advisories.
