Heavy Rain Warning Issued for Belagavi; Yellow Alert in Effect

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for Belagavi district, warning of heavy rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.4 mm over the next two days.

According to the latest forecast, Belagavi is among six Karnataka districts expected to receive heavy rain, along with Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga. The alert is valid for July 23 and 24, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) indicating the possibility of heavy showers across the district.

Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious, particularly those living in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Motorists are urged to drive carefully on slippery roads, while farmers and the general public are advised to stay updated with official weather bulletins and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rainfall.

The active monsoon conditions are expected to bring widespread rain across parts of Karnataka, and residents in Belagavi are advised to take necessary precautions until the weather improves.
