Belagavi to Get IT Park and Infrastructure Upgrade: Minister Directs BUDA to Expedite Blueprint

In a major push to accelerate urban development and generate local employment for the youth, Public Works and District In-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi has directed officials to expedite plans for an IT Park and comprehensive infrastructure overhaul in Belagavi.

Speaking at a Belagavi Urban Development Authority (BUDA) review meeting, the minister instructed officials to swiftly draft the necessary blueprints and fast-track the execution plan for the proposed IT Park.

The proposed IT Park will span 24 acres in Kanbargi and will be developed in three distinct phases.

Key Focus Areas & Directives

  • IT Park & Job Creation: Speeding up the execution framework for an IT Park to foster tech industries and curb youth migration by providing local employment opportunities.
  • Comprehensive Master Plan: Formulating a forward-looking master plan tailored to Belagavi’s long-term urban and economic growth requirements.
  • Traffic & Smart Infrastructure: Constructing smart traffic junctions (circles) and upgrading the overall traffic management system to ease congestion.
  • Civic Amenities: Prioritizing the development and beautification of city roads, public parks, and civic infrastructure.

Minister Jarkiholi emphasized that the administration’s resolve is to transform Belagavi into a modern, well-organized, aesthetically pleasing city and a prominent employment hub.

The meeting was attended by BUDA Chairman and MLA Asif (Raju) Sait, Belagavi South MLA Abhay Patil, Deputy Mayor Hanamanth Kongali, leaders Samiulla Madiwale and Pushpa Parvatarao, BUDA Commissioner Shakeel Ahmed, along with senior authority officials and elected representatives.
