In a move aimed at improving passenger convenience, the South Western Railway (SWR) has announced an experimental stoppage for select trains at Parakanahatti (PRKH) railway station.
Parakanahatti station (Halt) in Hukkeri taluk is located between Pachhapur and Gokak Road railway stations.
According to an officials, two pairs of unreserved express trains will now halt at Parakanahatti for a brief duration of one minute. The trains included under this arrangement are :
- Train No. 17332/17331 Hubballi–Miraj–Hubballi Unreserved (UR) Express
- Train No. 17334/17333 Castle Rock–Miraj–Castle Rock Unreserved (UR) Express
The scheduled arrival and departure timings at Parakanahatti station are as follows:
- Train No. 17331 (Miraj–Hubballi): 08:18 / 08:19 hrs Train No. 17332 (Hubballi–Miraj): 15:57 / 15:58 hrs
- Train No. 17334 (Castle Rock–Miraj): 21:33 / 21:34 hrs
- Train No. 17333 (Miraj–Castle Rock): 13:44 / 13:45 hrs
Railway officials stated that this stoppage is being introduced on an experimental basis for a period of three months, starting from May 1, 2026, and continuing until July 31, 2026. The decision is expected to benefit daily commuters and passengers from nearby areas by enhancing accessibility to rail services.
Passengers are encouraged to make use of this temporary facility, and feedback during the trial period may influence future decisions regarding a permanent stoppage at the station.
