Bengaluru/Belagavi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning forecasting intensified rainfall across Karnataka starting from June 29 through the beginning of July.
Authorities have alerted coastal and Malnad regions to take necessary precautions as heavy rains are expected in these areas.
Orange Alert Issued for 6 Districts
An ‘Orange Alert’ has been declared for six districts, where heavy rainfall is predicted between June 29 and July 1.
The districts under the Orange Alert are:
- Dakshina Kannada
- Udupi
- Uttara Kannada
- Shivamogga
- Kodagu
- Chikkamagaluru
Yellow Alert for 9 Districts
Additionally, a ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for nine districts, anticipating moderate to heavy rainfall. These districts include:
- Hassan
- Kalaburagi
- Belagavi
- Bagalkote
- Vijayapura
- Dharwad
Situation in Bengaluru
The state capital, Bengaluru, is expected to remain largely cloudy. The forecast suggests light to moderate rainfall in some parts of the city. Additionally, strong winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 km/h are expected, with the maximum temperature likely hovering around 30 degrees Celsius.
