The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast predicting widespread rainfall across coastal and interior districts of Karnataka over the next 24 hours.
Authorities have heightened vigilance as heavy rainfall is expected to persist in several regions for the next three days. Specifically, the IMD has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for June 23 and 24 across the following districts:
- Coastal Region: Dakshina Kannada, Udupi
- Malnad Region: Shivamogga, Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru (indicated regions)
- Interior Karnataka: Belagavi, Dharwad, Haveri, Koppal, Chitradurga, Vijayanagara, and Chikkaballapura

- Preparedness: Residents in low-lying areas are advised to stay alert and follow local government advisories.
- Travel: Travelers are urged to exercise caution, particularly in hilly areas and districts prone to waterlogging
