In a major boost to regional rail connectivity, South Western Railway (SWR) has issued an official order providing experimental temporary stoppages for four major pairs (eight trains in total) of express trains at Ghataprabha Railway Station in Belagavi District.
The decision follows persistent representations and appeals made by former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Iranna Kadadi on behalf of daily commuters, students, and trade communities in Ghataprabha and surrounding areas.

- Train No. 16210 Mysuru – Ajmer Express: Effective from August 25
- Train No. 16532 KSR Bengaluru – Ajmer Express: Effective from August 28
- Train No. 20686 KSR Bengaluru – Gandhidham Express: Effective from August 29
- Train No. 16534 KSR Bengaluru – Jodhpur Express: Effective from August 30
South-bound Trains (towards Bengaluru / Mysuru) (Arrival: 08:28 AM / Departure: 08:30 AM)
- Train No. 16531 Ajmer – KSR Bengaluru Express: Effective from August 24
- Train No. 20685 Gandhidham – KSR Bengaluru Express: Effective from August 25
- Train No. 16533 Jodhpur – KSR Bengaluru Express: Effective from August 26
- Train No. 16209 Ajmer – Mysuru Express: Effective from August 28
The new halts significantly ease travel for merchants, pilgrims, and the general public travelling towards major commercial hubs across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bengaluru, and Mysuru. Local leaders and passenger forums have welcomed the move and urged the public to make full use of the newly introduced halts.
