In a major boost for India’s aerospace manufacturing sector, Aequs Limited, based at the Belagavi Aerospace Special Economic Zone (SEZ), has signed a strategic partnership with Safran Landing Systems, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of aircraft landing and braking systems, to manufacture critical components for the Airbus A320 Family.
Safran Landing Systems, a part of the France-based Safran Group, is a global leader in the design, development, production, and support of aircraft landing gear and braking systems for commercial, military, and business aircraft. The company supplies advanced landing systems to major aircraft manufacturers, including Airbus and Boeing, and supports thousands of aircraft in service worldwide.

Under the agreement, beginning in 2029, Aequs will provide end-to-end manufacturing services for selected Airbus A320 Family aircraft wheels. The scope of work includes raw material sourcing, precision machining, and coating operations, with manufacturing taking place in Belagavi.
The partnership aims to strengthen Safran Landing Systems’ global supply chain, improve manufacturing resilience, and enhance efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality, performance, and customer support.
According to Safran, the collaboration will help deliver reliable, competitive, and on-time solutions to aircraft manufacturers and airline customers while reinforcing its long-term commitment to building a stronger and more agile global aerospace supply chain.
The strategic partnership was announced during the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, where Safran officially welcomed Aequs as a trusted manufacturing partner.
The agreement marks another significant achievement for Karnataka’s aerospace ecosystem, further strengthening the city’s position as one of India’s premier aerospace manufacturing hubs. With global aerospace leaders increasingly partnering with companies in Belagavi, the region continues to play a growing role in the international aviation supply chain.
