Karnataka Philately Passport Sale Kicks Off at Belagavi Head Post Office

In a major initiative to promote philately and celebrate the state’s postal heritage, the Karnataka Postal Circle has announced the sale of the Karnataka Philately Passport at the Belagavi Head Post Office on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

The event is set to attract stamp collectors, students, and history enthusiasts from across the region. To ensure smooth crowd management, authorities will begin issuing tokens at a dedicated counter inside the post office premises starting at 9:00 AM, followed by the commencement of passport sales at 10:00 AM.

The Karnataka Philately Passport highlights permanent pictorial cancellations representing significant cultural and geographical landmarks across the state. In addition to purchasing the passport, visitors will have access to a variety of philatelic activities and amenities:

  • My Stamp Counter: Available with dedicated postal officials on site to assist visitors in creating personalized postage stamp sheets.
  • Digital Detox Zone: An interactive area encouraging attendees to disconnect from screens and rediscover the traditional art of letter writing.
  • Philatelic Material Stalls: Separate counters offering commemorative stamps, special covers, picture postcards, and inland letters for hobbyists and collectors.

To facilitate a comfortable experience for attendees waiting in queue, the postal department has arranged on-site drinking water, parking within and adjacent to the premises, and access to nearby refreshment vendors. The initiative forms part of broader outreach campaigns by India Post to preserve heritage and foster philatelic interest among the public.
