LHB Coaches to Boost Safety and Comfort on Mysuru–Belagavi Vishwamanava Express

In a move aimed at enhancing passenger experience, the South Western Railway (SWR) is set to introduce modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches on the Mysuru–Belagavi–Mysuru Vishwamanava Superfast Express (Train No. 20676/20675).

The upgraded coaches will be introduced in a phased manner, with the new rake coming into service from April 26 for departures from Mysuru and April 27 for departures from Belagavi.

Currently, the train operates with 21 conventional ICF coaches. With this upgrade, it will run with a slightly revised composition of 20 LHB coaches. The new configuration is designed to improve both safety and travel comfort for passengers.

As per railway officials, the updated coach composition will include one AC Chair Car, 12 General Class coaches, five Second Seating Chair Cars, one Brake-cum-Luggage-cum-Generator Car, and one Second Class Luggage-cum-Brake Van. Notably, the train will also feature a Divyang-friendly compartment to ensure better accessibility for passengers with disabilities.

LHB coaches are known for their advanced design, offering improved stability at higher speeds, reduced chances of derailment-related damage, and enhanced onboard comfort compared to older ICF coaches. Passengers can also expect smoother rides and better amenities.
