New Weekly Express Trains Announced Between Hyderabad region and Belagavi

In a major boost to rail connectivity between Karnataka and Telangana, the South Western Railway and South Central Railway have announced the introduction of three new weekly express train services connecting Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Charlapalli with Belagavi.

The newly introduced services are expected to improve travel convenience for passengers, students, business travellers and tourists travelling between North Karnataka and Telangana. The trains will connect important cities including Ballari, Hosapete, Gadag, Hubballi, Dharwad and Raichur along the route.

According to the official notification, the following train services will be introduced:

Hyderabad – Belagavi Weekly Express

Train No. 17071 Hyderabad–Belagavi Weekly Express will commence service from Hyderabad from May 21, 2026. The train will depart every Thursday at 4:30 PM and arrive in Belagavi at 10:30 AM the next day.

In the return direction, Train No. 17072 Belagavi–Hyderabad Weekly Express will begin operations from May 15, 2026. The train will depart Belagavi every Friday at 1:00 PM and reach Hyderabad at 7:00 AM the following day.

The train will have 22 modern LHB coaches including AC First Class, AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, Sleeper Class, Pantry Car and General coaches.

Secunderabad – Belagavi Weekly Express

Train No. 17073 Secunderabad–Belagavi Weekly Express will commence from May 18, 2026. The service will operate every Monday, departing Secunderabad at 4:30 PM and arriving in Belagavi at 10:30 AM the next day.

The return service, Train No. 17074 Belagavi–Secunderabad Weekly Express, will begin from May 19, 2026. It will leave Belagavi every Tuesday at 1:00 PM and reach Secunderabad at 7:15 AM the following day.

This train will also operate with 22 LHB coaches comprising AC and Sleeper Class accommodation along with General coaches.

Charlapalli – Belagavi Weekly Express

Train No. 17075 Charlapalli–Belagavi Weekly Express will commence service from May 16, 2026. The train will depart every Saturday at 4:00 PM and arrive in Belagavi at 10:30 AM on Sunday.

The return train, Train No. 17076 Belagavi–Charlapalli Weekly Express, will start from May 17, 2026, departing Belagavi every Sunday at 1:00 PM and reaching Charlapalli at 8:45 AM on Monday.

This service will consist of 24 ICF coaches including AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, Sleeper and General coaches. The train will also halt at Secunderabad station.

All three train services will stop at key stations including Begumpet, Lingampalli, Vikarabad, Tandur, Yadgir, Raichur, Adoni, Guntakal, Ballari, Hosapete, Koppal, Gadag, Hubballi, Dharwad, Londa and Khanapur in both directions.

Railway officials stated that the introduction of these trains will significantly enhance connectivity between the Hyderabad region and North Karnataka, while also supporting regional economic activity and passenger demand.

Dr. Manjunath Kanamadi, Chief Public Relations Officer of South Western Railway, advised passengers to visit the official Indian Railways website for detailed arrival and departure timings at all stations en route.
