In a major relief for inter-state commuters ahead of the festive season, Indian Railways has announced weekly special trains connecting Mumbai and Bengaluru to clear the passenger rush during October and November.
The service will run a total of seven trips in each direction between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai, and Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT), Bengaluru.
Schedule and Timings
- CSMT Mumbai to SMVT Bengaluru (Train No. 01013): Departs CSMT every Saturday at 12:35 AM (midnight Friday) between October 10 and November 21. It will arrive at SMVT Bengaluru at 11:55 PM on the same day, completing the run in roughly 23 hours and 20 minutes.
- SMVT Bengaluru to CSMT Mumbai (Train No. 01014): Departs SMVT Bengaluru every Sunday at 4:30 AM from October 11 to November 22. The train will reach CSMT Mumbai at 4:05 AM on Monday morning.
Key Halts
The trains will provide vital connectivity across key towns and junction hubs in Maharashtra and Karnataka. En route, scheduled stops include:
- Maharashtra: Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Lonand, Satara, Karad, Sangli, and Miraj.
- Karnataka: Kudachi, Raibag, Ghatprabha, Belagavi, Londa, Dharwad, Hubballi, Haveri, Ranibennur, Harihar, Davangere, Birur, Arsikere, and Tumakuru.
Passengers planning to travel during Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath can book tickets through standard IRCTC ticketing channels and railway reservation counters as bookings open.
