In response to increasing water scarcity during the peak summer months, the Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development & Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) has announced a revised drinking water supply schedule for Belagavi city.
According to an official communication issued by the Office of the Superintending Engineer, KUWSMP (KUIDFC), the new regulation will be in effect from April to June 2026. The move aims to ensure equitable distribution of available water resources across all parts of the city.
As per the revised plan, residents will receive water once every 3 to 6 days, depending on their locality. The duration of supply during each cycle will be approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Officials stated that the decision has been taken due to reduced water availability and rising demand during the summer season. By implementing a rotational supply system, authorities intend to balance distribution and avoid severe shortages in any particular area.
Citizens have been urged to cooperate with the new schedule and use water judiciously during this period. Authorities also emphasized the importance of preventing wastage and adopting water-saving practices at the household level.
The KUIDFC has assured that necessary steps are being taken to manage the situation effectively until water availability improves.
