In a move aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and improving regional connectivity, the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has approved experimental halts for four long-distance express trains at Ghataprabha railway station.
According to an official circular (CC-188/2026) issued on July 8, 2026, signed by Joint Director (Coaching) Vivek Kumar Sinha, the new stoppages will be implemented from an “early convenient date.”

Monitoring and Review
The Railway Board has directed General Managers and Chief Passenger Transportation Managers (CPTMs) of the concerned zones—including South Western Railway (Hubballi), Central Railway (Mumbai), Western Railway (Mumbai), North Western Railway (Jaipur), and South Central Railway (Visakhapatnam)—to ensure immediate compliance and wide publicity for the new halts.
The continuation of these stoppages beyond the experimental period will heavily depend on commuter patronage and ticket sales recorded at Ghataprabha station during this trial phase. Copies of the order have also been forwarded to IRCTC for updating the ticketing databases.
