Belagavi, April 27:
In a positive development for public safety and urban maintenance, issues highlighted by our team Belagavi Infra regarding hazardous infrastructure at the city bus terminal have been promptly addressed by the North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation.
Earlier, we had raised serious concerns through social media posts on Instagram, Facebook, and X about dangerously damaged glass panels on the City Bus Terminal building. The broken panels posed a significant risk to commuters, with the potential of falling debris endangering public safety.
Responding to the alert, NWKRTC authorities have now taken corrective measures by removing the damaged glass sections. Work is currently underway to install new glass panels, ensuring improved safety and structural reliability at the terminal.
In addition to this, attention has also been given to the subway connecting the City Bus Terminal and Central Bus Stand, which had recently been opened but was found to be poorly maintained and unclean. Following the concerns raised, the subway has now been thoroughly cleaned and restored. Proper lighting has been installed, and the passage is being kept open consistently for public use, significantly enhancing commuter convenience.
However, with improved facilities now in place, responsibility also lies with the public. Citizens are urged to maintain cleanliness by avoiding littering, refraining from disposing of plastic waste irresponsibly, and making proper use of the dustbins provided at the premises.
This development stands as a strong example of how community awareness and administrative responsiveness can work together to create safer and cleaner public spaces in Belagavi.
